The Association Chaîne de Papier is pleased to have been invited to present the 2017/18 Edition of the Paper Fibre Art Biennial event in the large CRAFT DESIGN HALLS of the NTCRI Campus Nantou County Taiwan.
Paper & Fibre artists from around the world are invited to propose new works for this exciting Landmark Biennial Project. An environmentally friendly eco sustainable event using natural or recycled materials.
The first exhibition: natural handmade paper or recycled paper;
The second natural fibre or manmade recycled fibre;
Thirdly large scale outside sculptural works under a separate call.
At the Copenhagen Summit 2009 it was expressed that the cultural sector will most effectively lead change in humanity’s behaviour to a more sustainable future through changes in production and consumption, as catalysts for introducing new ideas and concepts for a sustainable future.”
As fibre and paper artists, we have the opportunity to connect intimately with the universe each time we choose fibres or plants to communicate our ideas. We are in the unique position among artists to convey, to educate, and to communicate important issues of today and to propose possible solutions, regarding the threat to our planet our eco systems and our own existence. This threat produced by our modern way of living, a threat that it is almost, but not too late to reverse, yet positive change is still possible.
