Low- Temperature Soil, Firm Soil, High Temperature Glaze
Tsai Jung-Yu
“Inclusive” is the creator’s series of more recent works, molding with low- temperature soil (ectoderm) coated firm soil (endoderm) to support the inner hollow shape, and then using high-temperature glaze to spray on soft soil ectoderm, by means of the difference of shrinkage rates between glaze and soil, creating a unique striped flow glaze.
Height of the series has generally reduced and become more appropriate to overlook it. This indicates that people should look at things from an angle located at a lower altitude, mutually respect and tolerate cultural differences to reduce conflict and turbulence, which shows the pattern of his ceramic art has transferred from technical level to aesthetics and philosophical space.
The piece presents the golden ratio, solid and sedate with excellent hand feel. In terms of decoration, an inlaid white side cyanine stripe in the middle strongly connects the two sides of which each possesses its own beauty feature, such separation-integration relationship is quite stunning.
