Glass artist Ching-lang Hsu works hard to improve his skills in making glass beads. Many of his students, who have already been acclaimed as skilled artists in their own right, have studied under him for years, but he still will not graduate them. They complain that, since he learns faster than they do, they will never be able to graduate. Hsu says that the art of producing beautiful glass beads is difficult to learn and nearly impossible to mass produce. Hsu has become a teacher for this reason, so that he will not have to worry about creating and selling enough pieces to live. The glass beads he does make are unique and unforgettable creations.
