Chia-heng Hsieh's workshop is a veritable museum of steam locomotives and trains: "I have one of everything that once ran on the railways in Taiwan!" he exclaims. Though Hsieh is a potter, those who see his trains for the first time all think they are made of copper. His shop is filled with models of the very steam locomotives and trains that once traveled all over Taiwan in the heyday of rail. While most of the real trains have long been retired, Hsieh has spent a decade in doing what he can to preserve and remember the Taiwan's century-old rail culture.
