Before embarking on a career as an artist, Pao-lin Huang worked as a layout editor at a newspaper for more than a decade. He started his artistic career with watercolor paintings, and then moved on to pottery. He is also interested in the wood, stone, and metal arts. Many of his creations employ discarded materials. His works always convey Huang's sense of humor, and in doing so draw attention to themselves. Recently, Huang has been turning out pieces for his solo exhibition, which has "brides" as its theme. Through such works as "The Runaway Bride" and "Come Hither" Huang shows the depth and breadth of his imagination and creativity.
