Huang has been working in wood craft industry for 40 years. At first he learned about fence making skills in a Chinese and Japanese cooperative company, and the orchid became his main topic of creating later on. Huang often uses the dead wood to reflect the elegance of the orchid, presenting the inheritance and passing of life among the plants. The awards he won included the Top Prize of Taiwan Wood Craft Art Creating Competition, and the Top Prize of the 16th National Crafts Art Exhibition.
Huang not only attends design course in the community university, but also opens the wood craft class there to gain more feedback and inspiration via the interaction of teaching and learning.
