Aikinu started his workshop in Laiyi Village by himself. Carving wood pieces that re ect his Paiwan heritage, he likes to meld new ideas with tradition. He has had no formal teachers, but enjoys working with and learning from nature. He also travels among Taiwan's indigenous groups, encouraging them to pass on their traditional art forms to younger generations. His greatest hope is to found a museum to house all of his works.
